Why are we, the playerbase, not allowed to play the game the way we want? Why are we not allowed to have fun on our way? Why?

/roll was removed from pvp because in hero battles, players used it to decide the outcome of matches and farm the title quickly. How is this bad? If they have fun this way, why not let them be? I do not understand this fascistical reaction from ArenaNet. If people have fun playing the game a certain way and it doesn't hurt anybody, why should it be removed? Unimaginable.

Most importantly. This fix extends far beyond the solution of the actual problem. If you consider rolling in HvH a problem, then solve the problem, do not RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO over all the other pvp modes. Why are we not allowed to roll in gvg, tomz, ab, ra, or ta? Rolling has never had a negative impact on these playstyles. Why should it be banned?

I have had lots of fun rolling randomly in AB or GvG, just to kill time while waiting, or to do funny games. "ROLL FOR BIGGEST PENIS!" Fun. Every time I win HoH everyone gets these random items noone needs. We always casino roll for them. None of this is possible anymore.

This isn't really that big of a deal. I do think it's yet another perfect example of Anet not really having a clue what's going on and fixing the problem overdramatically causing much more harm than good. Something that has been happening in PvP since... forever. Also I hate it when a liberty of mine is taken away for no good reason whatsoever.

I payed 180euros for this game. I want to play it my way. As long as I don't spoil the fun for anyone else, why am I not allowed to do this?

I see a LOT of spam in this topic. A large amount of posts does not reply to my arguments. It would be nice if they could be cleaned up so this thread doesn't instantly turn into a clogged up mess.

I hear 'red resigns' is the new HB rules. If you spawn as the red team, you have to /resign. Simple.

After winning 5 matches your rating will be high enough so you won't be facing rollers anymore.

Also, you are completely ignoring half my argument, which is on itsself reason enough not to remove this command. If HB is the problem. What has this to do with GvG?

You 'liberty' was a breach of the rules. YOUR way affected others.
The result of PvP competitions is made by COMPETING in PvP.

/roll was not a problem in other styles because there is more people in those, and less people is willing to /roll. /roll worked in HB because there are only 2 players. You either find a roller or a player, without mixes.

The /roll command simulates the roll of a dice.
It's a command meant to roleplay.
In PvP you don't roleplay, just play.
To roleplay you don't make PvP characters, you make ROLEPLAYING characters.
That should be easy enough to understand.
You already have the RPS and the color made up rules until they remove them too, hurry up and go max your title unil it's too late! Hurry!

Ha! This was good enough for me to forgive not being able to use the Stylist (although I won't forget!).
Some of us said /roll had to be banned from PvP with reason, they did so, only those that were breaking rules suffer the consequence. Happy ending! Smile! NOW! 笑いしろ!

I do agree that this is a fix that extends far beyond the solution of the actual problem. The solution of the actual problem would be to aggressively pursue and perma-ban cheating match-manipulating scum. If we're going to be fascists, let's be serious about it! Oh well...

I just played HvH, its not worth it - you never know who is redresigning rock paper scissors etc. I know that its general consensus for many to just play it - but I am just trying to get a few measly points for my zcoins. Everything is just confusing...

Whatever I guess... I got two wins and I see that its just another place for elitism. On a normal HvH match I would agree that playing its well the right way, but with the zquests its just to time consuming to go out and play 6 matches and spend an hour I don't have.

Its just my opinion.. Im sure I will get flamed >_<

Please point me to this exact rule. If it exists, then it should be removed straigth away. A rule that forbids people to have fun should not exist.

It's not fair. It's discouraged. It's cheap. But it won't get you banned.

But anyways, like I said in the other thread, there are already tons of workarounds for this (rock paper scissors, whoever is red/blue resigns, whoever is on the north or east side resigns, etc). So really, no real harm. A big overraction by the OP for nothing.

I highly doubt kaon cares that much about how HB will now decide who wins games because he is a gvger not an HBer. He cares that he cant use that emote anymore while waiting for the gates to open in GvG and have a little fun with his penis game. It is pretty lame that they took this away because of HB. Sure it doesn't effect the match at all, (im not talking about HB to roll to win, just /rolling in other forms just to see what number you get) but its still mildly amusing.
